As the number of websites continued to grow, more and more products and services were sold online. A new type of marketing has therefore to be created. Internet marketing was born. We will discuss some of the techniques used by internet marketers in this article

Many webmasters place an opt-in form on their websites where the customers are invited to enter their contact details. The webmaster then builds a database of names. The company can then mass-mails regular newsletters and other promotion to that list or can even sell this database to other companies. However opt-in lists, databases and mass-mailing should be used carefully. This is because anti-spam software may mark those emails as spam causing the clients to never receive those emails.

If a client already knows your site, he will go directly to your website. Else, he will key in the researched product in a search engine. This typed phrase or set of words is referred to as keywords. Search Engine Optimization is the process of making a particular website appear in the first results. It should be noted that those results will be displayed after a certain algorithm has been calculated

The above are only 2 ways used by internet marketers. Hopefully, many guides are out there on the internet and I highly recommend using them.
